Our continuing Story
Ours is an increasingly design-savvy world. Why is it, then, that so many visual communications still fail to fire the imagination, wake the senses, speak meaningfully, spark action? For close to 20 years, Chen Design Associates has been helping clients find a voice to express the genuine and the necessary, the illuminating and the unexpected. Telling your best story gets your business noticed. Telling it in bold and authentic terms keeps your audience riveted. And loyal. Our work is guided by ambitious design thinking and grounded in the particular needs of each client. We are streamlined to stay nimble and personal, even as our projects increase in size and scope. Because we are experts, not egoists, we engage clients in the process to foster respect and fuel invention. Together, we move people -- to explore, to wonder, to succeed. The Creative Process Almost anyone can shuffle a logo across a slate of different media and call it a "campaign." What sets CDA apart is a sophistication of strategy and design that far exceeds technical know-how or clinical expertise. CDA creates evocative identities and artfully integrated communication systems that compel the viewer to look and to respond. We translate ideas and emotions into visuals that refuse to be ignored. We practice responsiveness and relevancy. Our first commitment is to understanding a client's core vision and mission. These inform our studio process of collaboration, education and dynamic invention. Along the way, we champion intelligent risk-taking and are known for building consensus from divergent views. Each finished product is not about CDA or a signature style. It's about the essence of who you are and how that distinguishes you from the pack. Peace: 100 Ideas CDA expanded upon the simple, practical thoughts of Dr. David Krieger of the Nuclear Age Peace Foundation, amplifying their power with thought-provoking imagery. The result is a 224-page, co-authored book, printed on 100% post-consumer recyled fiber in the spirit of its message. CDA used digital illustration, painting, collage, and photography, to layer the ideas with further meaning and to challenge the viewer's preconceptions of what peace means. Our aim was to inspire actions toward being and building a reconciled world. The book naturally grew into a travelling art exhibition, a website, gift items and wearable art. In a climate of global war, socio-economic and political division, these beginning efforts seek to engage the viewer and invite conversation that can step us closer toward unity and wholeness. An act of peace, no matter how small, is an act of hope. visit peace100ideas.com order books and t-shirts here exhibition inquiries, email us
